I wouldn’t say it’s looked down upon, some cosplay purists feel that it’s all about making it yourself, vision halloween costume but for a majority of people there’s nothing wrong with buying it. Some people might give you crap, but a majority of con-goers that cosplay buy pre-made costumes, and the people that frown upon it are people that don’t understand that cosplay is about having fun, and dressing up as your favorite characters.
